Confusing question: The testis normally descend into the scrotum  around the 28th week of pregnancy. There persence may be dificult to verify due to peroneal fat, or the presence of fluid in the sac like structure that surrounds them. I don't know what u mean by drop. If your 2yo's testis are not in the scrotum, u should see his dr.Undescended testis have reduced fertility & most like to bring them down by 1yo.

Exam: It sounds like you may be talking about retraction testes. If they are palpable in the scrotum they are not undescended, a good physical exam and discussion with his pediatrician should help clarify.

Depends: It may be cold air causing testicles to retract into inguinal canals. Try giving warm bath and see if you can feel them then. If so i wouldn't worry esp. If no sign of discomfort or pain.

Testes: If he is otherwise healthy this probably is nothing to worry about..  His testis and penis will develop over time as he gets to puberty.  Penile and testicular development can very between individuals.  If you are very concerned have him examined to make sure he does not have any glandular or genetic problem.

No: Who advised you to wait? A doctor or a friend? If it is undescended testicle, it should have been operated on already unless there are circumstances that I am not aware of. If it is a friend/relative suggesting, get your child to be seen now.

incidentally noted are two small echogenic foci within the left testicle. no tumors found or anything. does this mean i will develop testicular cancer? or my risk is significantly higher? im worried. im 30 years old?

: Thant means ultrasound revealed two small calcifications. This finding does not fit the criteria of testicular microlithiasis ( 5 or more microcalfications). Even in patient with testicular microlithiasis, there is no increased risk of testicular cancer if you do not have other risk factors. You should not worry about this finding.

Go to ER now: This can indicate a very serious condition called testicular torsion that needs to be evaluated immediately - go to your nearest emergency room now.

: Both testicles seeming  painlessly larger usually is a sign of Hydroceles ( fluid in the sac surrounding the testicle). Best to get it checked by a Urologist. If no symptoms the it requires no treatment. In the meantime wear a good support under wear.

Cyst?: You might have a fluid filled cyst called a hydrocele. These are relatively harmless unless they get too big. You should see your doctor for a quick check.

Relax: As long as it is down some/most of the time it is available for regular exam and you know it is not lost inside the abdomen where it could cause problems over time. His doc should evaluate it at every regular exam. As he gets older it may drop &amp; stay down. To bring it down &amp; pin it into the scrotum would require general anesthesia &amp; a significant uncomfortable recovery. Discuss with his doc.
