No.: No, as long as it's given at the proper dosage. Extremely high doses can cause respiratory depression (i.e. Decreased breathing function), but at palliative doses, it is simply that: palliation.    (note from 30 years in practice md:  palliative narcotics are for many dying patients the ideal intervention to unrelenting pain, allowing them to relax or sleep and to carry on with normal dying.).

What kind of pump?: Spinal or IV morphine. Spinal(intrathecal) pumps are used for non-radiating body pain of various types. Iv pumps may be used of acute or chronic pain requiring systemic analgesia such as for post-op or cancer pain.

Allergies: I am unaware of any cross sensitivity with those allergies and any antihypertensive medications that are commonly used. Medications like ARB's such as avapro are well tolerated. ACE inhibitors like lisinopril can cause a dry cough. Amlodipine(norvasc) can cause swelling of ankles. Cardura, hytrin, minipress are well tolerated unless they lower the blood pressure too much. Low dose diuretic added.

hello, i was given intravenous morphine monday afternoon, it is now friday evening. is it ok for me to consume alcohol? ive read it can take up to 4 days to leave my system, just want to make sure.

OK: At this stage there should be no significant interaction with alcohol and that one dose of iv morphine.

Recommend not: Codeine is metabolized to morphine by the liver. I would not take this medication.

Depends: On majority of cases the answer is no. If you were getting morphine for several days you can experience withdrawal symptoms which can be treated. Talk to your doctor.

morphine sulphate 100mg in 5 ml solution given as 3cc.  no cancers known.  but why is it being given?  pt had dementia.

???: Am not sure what situation is being described.  I do not know how to answer this, not knowing the whole particulars.  Sounds perplexing.  Maybe need to do a Concierge visit and discuss fully.
