Michigan Urologist: Frequently your state of hydration can make your urethra more sensitive. Dehydration with dark urine may lead to burning. Also sensitivity can be seen with irritation from soaps, detergents, etc. Prior to the antibiotic era, true urinary tract infections were treated with high fluid intake and they would resolve in 3 days. Other causes include interstitial cystitis, urethritis, trauma.

The : The brown urine represents blood and commonly occurs when passing kidney stones. Burning in the urine, called dysuria, is also common as a stone passes into the bladder.  He should have a kidney ultrasound and followup urine testing.

Usually: this meas INFECTION of the vulva/urethra and this should be cultured and evaluated by your Gynecologist/Family Physician/Professional as son as practicable!
In the meantime drink lots of fluids/Cranberry juice if you like it( may have antiseptic qualities)

Viral UTI, or IC: Viral cystitis, interstritial cystitis or a bladder stone could account for your symptoms and urinalysis negative for bacteria or white cells. Could pink on toilet paper be from your vagina? Certainly should be checked out by your dr, gynecologist or urologist if symptoms continue.

Dilutional effect: Burning on urination can be from an infection, too much acid in urine (too many carbonated beverages), bacterial/yeast vaginitis, inflammation of the urethra or vagina from chemicals (douche, bath soap, feminine sprays).  For the first two, water will make the urine less concentrated & your symptoms may resolve, returning when your stop drinking water.  Need to check a urinalysis & if (-) an exam.

Please see your Dr.: Allergic reactions to laundry detergent can involve the outer labia that come into contact with the allergen. Usually the inner labia are not involved. In addition, allergic reactions itch not burn.  It would burn only if the itchy areas were scratched so that there are open sores. This rash needs to be looked at for a proper diagnosis.

Allergy? : Many people have reactions to different household products like detergent . Change back to your old brand. Of course it could be a coincidence and you have a yeast infection and / or bladder infection. An examination could sort this out.
