It will also affect the metabolism and affect of any medications you may be taking.  Safest course is to not drink it.  The more severe your sarcoid or more meds you take the greater your risk.

May be normal: To some degree, it is normal to get some increase in heart rate after eating &amp; drinking (esp high sugar foods like alcohol) as digestion naturally increases the work of the heart/Increased blood flows to the stomach to aid digestion. The vagus nerve interfaces with the autonomic, parasympathetic control of heart rate, and may impact this response. If this is only/main symptom, not dysfunction.

Bad idea: Self medicating with alcohol is a bad idea.  It can cause increased bleeding, bruising, swelling, liver issues and it is a bad habit.  You are very young to be having so much difficulty with coping skills and stress.  Consider getting help with this to improve your ability to deal with life stress.

Abuse or at risk: In men less than age 65 more than 3 drinks in 1 day or 14 in a week is considered abuse and at risk. We do not use clinical. However we use abuse or dependency both are present > 1 year but abuse has 1 criteria , dependency  3 or more they are at risk and abuse. Have them talk to their doctor.

No problem: The Ativan (lorazepam) has a relatively short duration of action, and by now should mostly be "out of your system".
