Various causes: Narrowing of the airways can cause wheezing. The reason of this narrowing needs to be found. It could be asthma, allergies, foreign body in airway, etc. More history is needed and a good physical examination by a doctor.

Pulmonologist: Pulmonary testing may include pfts with and without the use of a bronchodilator, for example Alvuterol.
Multiple episodes of physician diagnosed wheezing may lead to the diagnosis. A work up is indicated.

prescribed hetrazan 100 x 21 days (1-0-1) and inhaler by ent doctor. does this mean i have parasitic worms ? just had some wheezing in chest. eosinophils -12% , absolute e.c.- 636 how did i get these worms ? do these worms lead to elephantiasis ?

: The course may be longer than expected. Please discuss with the ENT physician, 5 days v. 21 days. Did you have a test which indicates a GI parasite? The wheezing may also be related to an allergic reaction. A IgE total serum, assessment of peak flow or pulmonary function test is recommended. In addition, the use of SABA alone is discouraged, and should be used with a steroid for asthma. CVD vac.

i have had acute bronchitis for 2 weeks (on antibiotics for 1 week) and no improvement. still coughing fits and dr hears wheezing in chest still. why?

Airways inflammation: causing the cough and wheezing, antibiotics alone won't help, you will need Bronchodilators and possibly steroids to control the inflammation, kindly revisit your doctor or seek a second opinion, best wishes

Wheezing: Wheezing at night is a serious symptom of asthma and you should be checked out.  Could also be cardiac asthma, which is really congestive heart failure, but usually you would know that you have heart disease.

Wheezing : the brief wheeze was probably caused when you temporarily partially blocked a small airway with a mucous plug then you cleared or with a cough or normal breathing causing the wheeze to stop

Anxiety?: First tell us whether the wheezing occurs when you are breathing in or breathing out?  Assuming that you are under 40 (the masturbation factor) and thus the problem appears to be from anxiety or stress. A condition known as vocal cord dysfunction(problem getting enough air) for which ENT consult may be helpful. Don't see any link between left armpit pain &amp; your breathing problem.

Asthmatic bronchitis: You may have asthmatic bronchitis if not frank asthma. Wheezing will give you cough. Go to the doctor's and get some inhalers and a check up. Good luck!
