EKG: It is called an electrocardiographic heart monitor.  A print out from the machine is called an electrocardiogram and is abbreviated EKG or in modern medical lingo, more often a ecg.  The beeping is generally set to be more noisy when the heart rate is irregular, to help warn clinical staff who may not be able to continually look at the monitors.

: Capacity of a healthy urinary bladder is approximately between 400-500 ml. An outflow obstruction developed over time can lead to overfilled bladder. 
Ultrasound machine automatically calculates the residual urine from the measurements taken using a mathematical formula to arrive at the volume and are fairly accurate. Consuming water or any liquid amount does not equally translate in to urine volu

: Yes it can. If the staff was ordered to do a test- he/she would only do it if trained for it. Most nurses are not trained to know all the causes of incomplete emptying of the bladder. That is for the doc/ Urologist to diagnose.

No formula: Just ask! most hospitals have breastfeeding initiatives and want to do whatever they can to promote breastfeeding. Not sure what you have heard, but no one at the hospital is looking to give the baby formula unless you request it. You can also request that a pacifier or "binky" not be given.

Not sure: Is it called " free boarding"?  Not aware of what it is? Sorry.

Accepted Answer

No. ? Psychiatrist: Not supposed to in the us. Appropriate (not police) have to be informed if subject is a child. Home circumstances must be investigated before it is safe to return a child, after overdose, to their home.

Depends: If extremely ill/injured, goes to closest hospital / trauma center. If specialty insurance (kaiser), tries to take to their facility if stable. Jurisdictions set rules on where/how far will transport patient so can get ambulance back in service, but w/in reason, most allow choice of hospital. Hospitals can go on ambulance diversion if their er overcrowded & unsafe to get more patients.

IV fluid: Most patients in the hospital will have an IV which is a very small tube that allows fluid and medication to be administered.  The bag of water is usually either Normal Saline or lactated ringers- water with nutrients added

There are several: Tell the hospital that there is a possibility of exposure to sexually transmitted disease. Chlamydia and gonorrhea can be check by a urine test or culture of the genitals.
