what is the difference between a seizure and a mini stroke?

Here goes: A seizure is an electrical storm that causes shaking or blackout & is treated with special meds to prevent recurrence. A mini stroke might be a small area of brain damage on a ct scan without symptoms, but care is needed to prevent more damage. A TIA (transient ischemic attack) is temporary stroke-like symptoms due to a blood clot but no actual brain damage. Also needs care to prevent progression.

Hard to say: Most patients with ts do develop seizures.  Not all patients with seizures have abnormal eeg's. It is by no means a 'gold standard test.'  most seizure patients also have pseudo-seizures . These do not seem to be related to electrical  activity; and often go away with placebo treatment. This does not mean that they are 'faking it'. The brain is a powerful and sometimes mysterious instrument.......

Different cause: Both feel very real to the person.  Epileptic seizure is caused by abnormal electrical brain activity.  Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (or events) are not caused by abnormal electricity.  They may be related to inner stress or conflict.  They  are treated  in different ways.
