im taking ultrasound because of cold feet. do i have to check arteries or arteries and veins?  can any internist do it? some are more expensive.

Arteries.: If the concern is for vascular disease causing reduced flow to the legs and feet, the problem to evaluate is arterial flow toward the extremities.  Vein assessment for this would not be helpful.
Typically any physician (such as an internist) can refer to radiology/vascular medicine for a study.
Another test consideration for lower extremity would be an ankle:brachial index (ABI).

Cool: extremities are usually from arterial issues  the warm swollen extremity can be from venous stasis disease and or infection

Little to no chance: Cold feet at night is mostly a nerve response.  It is common for normal healthy people to get cold feet.  Your body is going to rest mode and is diverting the blood away from your feet.  Ulcers are from pressure points, poor arterial circulation ( rest pain or can't walk a certain distance due to pain) or venous usually in the inside ankle due to swelling.

Seems normal: Everybody is different. The back is a normal place to be sweaty (it can't breathe when we're sitting in a chair or lying down). Hands and feet are commonly a little cold because they're further away from the center of the body.

Hyperhydrosis: You are suffering from hyperhydrosis, a condition of excess sweating. This is not uncommon and can be easily treated by using common antiperspirant on your feet. The reason your feet feel cool is that the process of sweating lowers body temperature.

Cold Feet: Poliomyelitis causes neurological injury that can lead to a condition known as autonomic dysfunction in some people.  This condition can result in "instability" of the blood vessels which can precipitate constriction and cooling as blood flow diminishes.  Additionally, direct injury to the nerves in the periphery can affect the cold/heat sensors and send erroneous information to the brain.

Get evaluated: Several things could be going on.  Cold feet can be a result of poor blood flow.  This can cause pain in an extremity.  Another possibility is nerve damage which could cause you to believe your foot is cold. Finally, the pain and cold symptoms may be unrelated.  Either way, an evaluation by your primary care physician would be a good place to start.
