Possible trauma: The gum tissue in the area of the extraction may have been traumatized from the procedure, resulting in a loss of blood flow. How long ago was your extraction? Are you in pain? It will most probably heal just fine, but it may be best to have your dentist take a look just to be sure.

Without seeing the problem, it is hard to determine if you are have normal or unusual symptoms.
Depending on the severity of the problem, post-operative sensitivity or pain are normal events.  Bruising to the adjacent area may also occur.

Probably not: Extraction sites vary in the amount of time it takes for them to close, ive seen them take a year, if u r having no pain i wouldnt worry about it, if it has been over 2weeks and the site is painfull i would go to the dentist that did the extraction and get an x ray.

Sore gums: Much discomfort after extraction comes from the body's reaction to the surgery. This reaction is called inflammation. Whether it is medically needed treatment, or just an accidental trauma, the body can not distinguish. In both cases the body react to it with inflamed tissue. Your gum is undergoing inflammation, which cause both pain ; healing response within body. The gum swells up ; become sore.

Seek second opinion: May be infection, a spicule of bone, a cut or scrape, or one of many other problems.  Would suggest evaluation by an Oral Surgeon

Yes and Unlikely: While 7 months is a bit of a longer than usual time frame for a bony sequestrum to appear, it is certainly not unheard of. Local discomfort akin to splinter is what I'd expect for pain. Pain in surrounding teeth is likely due to something else.

See your dentist: Dry sockets do occur, especially if you are smoking (don't!). Please call the dentist who removed your tooth. He/she will evaluate for any infection, any secondary problem, and possibly place a soothing packing at the site.  Antibiotics may not be necessary unless there is swelling. Call today.

Pedodontist: Best to see a Pedodontist, a children's dental specialist, immediately. Baby teeth may be fractured or displaced. Supporting tissues may be damaged. Fall may have caused injury or displacement to underlying permanent teeth. If baby teeth abscess permanent tooth crowns can be damaged.  Please have child examined now.
