i was told by a nurse said that my 3 month old son might have eczema. his skin is flaky and dry but he does not have red patches. could this still be eczema. if so, how can we treat it.

Review with his doc: There are a multitude of things that cause rashes on a 3 mo &amp; I would not race to any conclusions based on a casual remark by a nurse. Eczema is a potentially lifelong condition. Treatment goal is first in maintaining the barrier role of the skin against germs. A secondary goal is making skin look normal. Moisturizers help in any rash. I would avoid aggressive treatment until confirmed by his doc

Topical Ointments: For eczema flares, apply prescription strength corticosteroid ointments to problem areas twice a day until clear. Daily moisturization is important as well. Other tips: Take quick shower (10-15min) in lukewarm water while avoiding harsh and drying cleansers. Pat away excess water and immediately apply fragrance-free moisturizer like Vanicream. Use at least twice a day.

Find out for sure.: You know that commercial that goes, "do you want your doctor doing your job? Then why are you trying to do his?" don't try to diagnose and treat this yourself. Eczema on the face is relatively unusual in babies. It could be seborrheic dermatitis, an allergic reaction, a drug reaction, food allergy, or a host of other things. See your doctor, get a precise diagnosis & treatment.

Side effects: One of the side effects of Mupirocin is redness of the skin. Stop using it and consult your foctor.

ECZEMA: Is there metal in your bra? Probably you are allergic to it and yes it could be eczema on contact dermatitis. If you  are sure that foot lesion is not fungus  that  can spread just eczema then try your steroid cream otherwise see your doctor.

after a severe eczema/acne flare-up,there is now a small beige patch on my skin. is there any treatment to make it "disappear"?does it ever go away?

Eczema: Tough to tell without a picture of it, but with lots of eczema flareups, you can have what is called post inflammatory hypopigmentation to the skin.  Basically after a flareup where there is inflammation going on, it can heal with a lighter color skin tone to it.  Can take some time for that to improve and go back to normal.

See doc: Since the description does not fit either eczema or acne, it may be from a fungal (tinea?) infection. However it is hard to tell for sure without a direct examination.

i noticed some itching in my vagina area. once i investigated further, i noticed a patch of skin under my vaginal opening that looks similar to an eczema patch. there is no discharge other than normal vaginal cleansing discharge and no smell either?

: Tentatively, use warm sitz bath 2-3 times a day for a couple days and observe the symptoms. Avoid sex if possible in the mean time. If new symptoms, such as abnormal discharge, dysuria or the lesion expands, you should see a GYN by then.
