A member asked:

I was told by a nurse said that my 3 month old son might have eczema. his skin is flaky and dry but he does not have red patches. could this still be eczema. if so, how can we treat it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Review with his doc: There are a multitude of things that cause rashes on a 3 mo & I would not race to any conclusions based on a casual remark by a nurse. Eczema is a potentially lifelong condition. Treatment goal is first in maintaining the barrier role of the skin against germs. A secondary goal is making skin look normal. Moisturizers help in any rash. I would avoid aggressive treatment until confirmed by his doc
