Low blood sugar test: The best way to look for hypoglycemia in the lab is a 2 hour 75 gm glucose tolerance test.  Before  this, ask your physician for a glucose meter ( usually free) so you can test your finger stick blood sugar before and 2 hours after you eat.  Record at least 2 weeks of results by testing 1 meal each day and test a different meal each day.  Take your record to your physician for review.

Hypoglycemia: Many normal people have relatively low glucose 3 hr after a GTT.  But normal people do not go around drinking 75 g of pure glucose.  That test does not diagnose hypoglycemia.  If you have symptoms after eating sugary meals, then you should change your diet to more protein and complex carbs.  Eat small frequent meals.

Not low blood sugar: Nope. That's stone-cold normal. Are you diabetic or obese? Unless you're on Insulin (or a few other drugs) for diabetes, hypoglycemia is very, very rare, and usually due to an insulin-producing tumor in the pancreas. "Hypoglycemia" used to be a common fad diagnosis, but it isn't a real diagnosis in those cases, and those people's symptoms have nothing to do with blood sugar levels. Look elsewhere!

Poor: Hba1c is fair at detecting chronically high bgs, but very poor at detecting low bgs. Fortunately, true low bgs are very rare and almost never sustained or recurrent. The sensation of "hypoglycemia", when related to sugar at all in people not treated with diabetes medications, is usually the normal response to low-ish sugars, which corrects them and keeps the body well.

No: In my 35 years of practice, I have never seen a case of reactive hypoglycemia.  The disorder doesn't exist, if you're overweight the symptoms are a natural response to your glucose level returning to normal. A glucose tolerance test (if you've had one) is not and never will be a valid diagnostic test for hypoglycemia. Don't waste your money o GTT or any fad diets of treatments. Lose wt if heavy.
