Proper aftercare will reduce the risk of this even causing scaring and pigment issues

See a dermatologist: Tretinoin is useful for acne but is irritating, especially in the beginning. You can get a milder preparation and use less frequently. You can use a moisturizer. Combining erythromycin only increases the expense and irritation. Suggest you change to generic TRETINOIN CREAM .025%. Begin just 3x a week. Use a cream for dry skin. Avoid other meds. Face will look better soon.

I : I agree and typically find chemical peels too harsh for rosacea patients.  Avoiding triggers, preventive treatment with medications, and consideration of a v-beam laser treatment are often beneficial.

See derm: If the skin is peeling and waxy (greasy) near the nose and eyebrows, it may be seborrheic dermatitis, which is basically facial dandruff,  If this is the case, you may have dandruff in the scalp too, but not necessarily. The treatment is prescription creams (antifungals/antiinflammatories) and also treat the scalp if affected. Over the counters are usually not effective.
