Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing  so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day  and protected from trauma.  Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.

Oral antibiotics usually are not necessary but it does help to wear open toed shoes and keep the area clear from any pressure from shoes or other types of footwear. If the pain or redness spreads, see your doctor.
