hello! i have a fishy/musty odor around my labia and clit but not inside of my vagina opening what could be the cause? i bathe twice a day and i got checked for stds a week ago everything was negative. im taking meds for rheumatoid arthritis?

: In the absence of a vaginal discharge or any evidence of a vulval bacterial or fungal infection, I would disregard this odor as anything significant. If you still have concerns, consult your gynecologist.

Fishy odor: A fishy odor to vaginal secretions is a classic symptom of bacterial vaginosis which is not an STD. It happens when the normal peroxidase positive lactobicillus are lost and anaerobic bacteria over grow in the vagina and it is the most common vaginal infection. Douching does not help and can even cause it. See your PCP or GYN for evaluation and treatment. Hope this helps.

Fluids : If you have been tested for stds the yeast and BV are possible. If this occurs after sex it may just be sexual fluids especially if your make partner ejaculated in you.

Yeast: Vaginal itching without discharge can indicate infections like yeast or stis like herpes. It can indicate an allergic reaction to household products like certain soaps and laundry detergents. There are also some skin conditions liked lichen sclerosis which can cause vaginal itching.  Start with an over the counter yeast  cream. If not improving schedule a visit.

Sounds like it : A recurrant lesion in the same place ,most likely herpes.the fishy odor is typical of gardnerella  or bacterial vaginitis.You shod see your gyn.

3 days after sex i had soreness in my vagina the next day i had discharge white milky no odor. i used the yeast cream the soreness went away in a day and discharge turned back to normal in 3days. was it yeast infection?or std cause similar symptoms?

: You are obviously familiar with the yeast infections, and yes that might have been the problem, but guessing is not the response you need.  Please go and get checked properly so that your mind is at rest and no untoward infection gets out of hand.

Hello. : Hello. I can't diagnose your condition. However, you may have a sexually transmitted disease. This is of course more likely if you have unprotected sex. Normal vaginal secretions are clear or white. They can also look yellowish or tan. They normally are not malodorous. Do you have any vaginal irritation  or redness? I think it would be helpful to have this checked by your gynecologist. Take care.

Fishy smell: It can, could be due to trichomoniasis, or vaginosis. Both can be treated with oral metronidazole.
