hello i have been having overactive bladder problems for 1 year now, i tried kegel exercises, changing my diet, and reducing liquids, none of it seems to work for me, it's ruining my sleep??

Ask Dr: Your doctor can prescribe medications once you explain your efforts. Even if they are not successful, there are other possibilities. Botox and embedded stimulus devices exist. They're more invasive, risky and expensive but sometimes help when simpler treatments have not.

Yes. But...: Ms causes poor bladder function and retention of urine. This is due to the effect on the nerve supply of the bladder. However, for blood in the urine you need to rule out causes like stones, ulcers, and cancers. This is done by cystoscopy.

Gallbladder: There are a number of possibilities and I would not hesitate to be seen.  Among the possibilities include problems with your gallbladder,  a good exam and appropriate studies can almost certainly determine the cause.

i had a bladder sling 7 years ago.  i am unable to sleep in a bed due to internal pain, and am having more incontinence issues.  what can be done?  ty

Need evaluation: Some women have symptoms of pain from slings.  Vaginal pain in the area of the sling, pain with intercourse, pain with other activities, difficulty emptying your bladder and recurrent uti's are all possible symptoms. You need to see someone who has experience dealing with mesh complications to determine if your sling is the problem.  It can be removed.

Many things: including a seizure followed by a "postictal"/post seizure period.  You should seek an evaluation urgently.  Don't drive yourself though.  If it was a seizure, you could have another one while driving and that's very dangerous.

Sometimes: Increased urinary frequency and incontinence can sometimes occur people who are very anxious  (especially if there anxiety focuses on urination). However, it is important to have medical causes ruled in or rule out before considering anxiety as the cause.

Yes: Endometriosis can get on the bladder and cause bladder pain and painful urination. Interstitial cystitis (ic) can also cause those symptoms. So sometimes it can be a little difficult to figure out. Starting with some urine testing, some blood work, maybe a cystoscopy would help to get you answers.

: I think you asked this question before whether ibuprofen causes urinary retention. It is very unlikely but we do not say never in medicine because people react to medication differently and in rare case we call that reaction an idiosyncratic effect. Ibuprofen can cause acute renal failure which can make significant reduction in urine output, i.e. you void less, but it does not mean bladder problem
