how can i stop my anxiety? its chronic and painful and stops me from daily tasks, i can't even get out of bed somedays and the meds only make me sleepy, what else can i do to stop it??

my dr prescribed me methylphenidate 27mg which made me sleepy. my dr then prescribed me phenylalanine 37.5mg for fatigue. are these meds ok together?

Not phenylalanine: I think you mean phentermine. There is a risk of cardiovascular and CNS stimulatory effects between the two with possible additive toxicity. If you are getting that sleepy on methylphenidate (mp), my practice style would be to have you stop the mp, review for a primary sleep disorder such as sleep apnea as a cause for the adhd. If negative, i would try a different stimulant, one at a time.

38 male feel sleepy all the time. 115/80 bp no meds. i also sleep 1 hour in noon but after 8 hours of sleep i am not fresh.

Sleep &amp; fatigue: You MAY have sleep apnea.  This condition interferes w/the quality of sleep you get.  Please see your doc who may order a sleep study.  Other possibilities include hormonal imbalance or depression.  Peace and good health.

i stopped anti psychotic meds cause i felt sleepy and weird now i still feel weird and sleep poorly i feel like it is a catch 22 situation what now?

Difficult situation: Psychotic and/or bipolar symptoms can make you feel "weird" and sleep poorly.  If you were given the medication for these issues, it's normal that they might return off the medication.  Dosages can be adjusted to minimize sedation.  The goal is to decrease symptoms and normalize sleep patterns.  Please talk with your psychiatrist, and explain what has happened.  S/he can help you with this.

Easy answer?: The easy answer would be not to take it, cure your allergy, or pass your allergy on to someone else- none of those options seem good, huh?  Well, how about timing? Take your medication at a time where you may not care if you're sleepy like just before bedtime or the National Republican Convention. How about talking to your doc about reducing the dose or switching to non-drowsy formulation or agent

my urgent care doctor gave me 10 mg diazepam for muscle relaxant. i have serious insomnia and take zolpidem regularly. the diazepam.has not made me real sleepy. my sleep med is 12.5 can i go ahead and take it. it has been about 3 hours since i took diazep

Even 10mg dose of Diazepam has not relieved your anxiety.
Zolpidem is a medication for sleep problem; it has lost its effectiveness as you have been using it regularly.
Your serious insomnia is likely due to Anxiety and Depression due to stresses in life.

Need labs : You need labs before upping your med. 175 is a big dose so need you need to know where you are first to evaluate the current dose.

Talk with your doc: Xanax (alprazolam) can certainly cause sedation, and your doctor needs to know this is happening at the dose s/he prescribed.  Your dose could be decreased, which might provide the desired result.  Its relatives can also cause sedation.  Sometimes ssri antidepressants are also prescribed for anxiety, and at the appropriate dose they can work.  Psychotherapy is also an important part of treatment, though.

Provigil: Provigil (generic- modafinil) is used for sleep disorders such as narcolepsy. It is taken during the day to promote wakefulness. You should see your doctor and be evaluated as to why you are so tired. You could have a sleep disorder or some other illness, such as hypothyroidism, that could be causing the problem. It is best to fix the underlying problem rather than put a bandaid on it.

dxd w/ excessive daytime sleepiness yrs.  back besides meds how can i combat?  have had my meds in yrs. it gets really bad at times.

Excessive sleepiness: Look into bright light therapy, sleep hygiene.Both do not require prescription, but you may benefit from seeing a specialist to evaluate for sleep apnea and narcolepsy.
