Darker skin: There is no easy way to lighten these areas. You can use sun block generously because with less sun, in time you will produce less melatonin which is the pigment that gives darker color. Topical hydroquinone can also reduce darkness but is expensive and requires long term application.

May be scabies: It could be another type of infestation like scabies or fleas.  However, a mattress cover is not going to prevent bed bugs if you are infested with them.  Other possibilities include an allergic reaction to a lotion, soap or laundry detergent.

Depends: It depends on the severity and type of acne.  Are there [pustues)?  Papules (red bumps) , blackheads?You may need oral antibiotics and topical treatments.  The dark marks occur after an acne lesion is there.  See a dermatologist for prescription meds.

Retin A (tretinoin): Retin a (tretinoin) is a  prescription. The generic, tretoin, is the same but costs less. Tretinoin gel should be obtained in the largest size.  Apply a very small amount every night. At first it may be irritating & drying, so you may skip a night sometimes. It is less irritating if you wait 20 minutes after washing. Expect improvement after 3 months, then continue for at least a year. Frustrating, but it tak.

is it ok to continue taking metformin even if i don't have polycystic ovaries anymore? is it true it counters the effect of otc pills (weight gain)

Accepted Answer

Yes: If you have Insulin resistance or even diabetes metformin is fine to take.  Some people have lost weight on metformin, perhaps due to GI side effects.  I haven't heard that it can interfere with diet pills but those can be dangerous on their own.

Doubt bedbugs: Bed bug bites may have no sx's/signs except for 2 small skin puncture points. A reaction may show from 1 hr to several days later. It can cause itchy, pink, swollen, lesions w clear center. If hypersensitive blisters may occur. Telltale sign is linear track of lesions from sequential feedings – doesn't always occur. Bites are in areas exposed while sleeping-arms, shoulders, neck &amp; legs.

Steroid creams: Treatment for bed bug rashes:
1. Remove the source of the problem - the bed bugs by exterminating.
2. Steroid creams on the rash work well.  Prescription creams are stronger and more effective than over the counter creams.  
3. Antihistamines relieve the itch.
