Knot in back: It could be a variety of things including muscle spasm, sprain, or radicular (nerve) pain.  When you see your doctor, they'll ask about nerve symptoms, if the pain travels, if you're having any bowel or bladder problems, and they'll do a thorough exam including testing the reflexes, strength, sensation of your legs, and special tests for nerve pinching.

This : This should be evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon immediately!  while it may be from an injury, there are more serious conditions that can cause lumps in this area.  Depending on her age, there are different types of growths that can occur around the knee.  Some of them are painful and some are not.  Radiographs are mandatory and advanced imaging may be necessary.

Right rib cage: The gall bladder, liver and some intestines are located just below the right lower ribs. Your physician can examine you and then order a right upper quadrant ultrasound and any other tests that he/she deems appropriate. In the meantime avoid fried and fatty foods.

Start with the basic: I would use advil or aleve (naproxen).  Heat and rest are also great starting points.  If this is a recurring problem a muscle relaxer such as Baclofen or Robaxin may help.
