5 yrs ago was diag uterine fibroids. they were small, there is about 10. over the last weeks, i thought i was having uti now have signs of prolapse. have appt, what ? will dr ask? is hyster. likely?

See below: Depending on number and size, you might be a candidate a uterine artery embolization which can shrink the fibroids with surgery.  However; sometimes hysterectomy maybe the only option.  Talk to your doctor about your options.

Fibroids: Fibroids will not keep you from being able to have an abortion if you so desire one, it will just make it more complicated.  It may be that a medical abortion may be a better option than a surgical one in your situation. Just be sure to let your doctor know about them. Good luck, whatever you decide.

No: The medication does not cause fibroids or ovarian cysts.

Underlying cause: This is an extremely rare condition in children of this age . There may be an underlying cause for the problem such as a cystocoel or urethrocoel present. She obviously should be seen by a pediatric gynecologist at a teaching hospital if possible.

i have uterine prolapse. can too much coughing cause my uterus to fall so much that i can feel my cervix in my vagina?

Yes: valsalva and cough may make the cervix more easily felt.  Certainly in the office as part of a prolapse evaluation I have a patient push down like for a bowel movement and have them cough to see how significant the prolapse is.

Painful fibroids: For pregnant women with painful fibroids, supportive care and administration of acetaminophen as the initial intervention recommended.  Short-term use of opioids in standard doses or a course of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs &amp;#40;NSAIDs&amp;#41; can be given when pain is not controlled by these measures. Pregnancy termination is an elective procedure available for patients who desire it.

It is possible: That is a possibility, but there are other causes of microscopic blood in the urine.

Your DR will make sure none of the other conditions are the cause.

Unknown: It's a good question- However, no one knows the answer to it since it depends on the probiotic composition and factors in the person taking it.

Yes...but: Yes it would be safe, but having uterine abnormalities like fibroids can make the procedure more difficult and slightly increases the risk.

Fibroids: Uterine fibroids are benign tumors usually in the muscular wall of the uterus. Depending on their size, they can cause problems with bleeding, pain or difficulty getting pregnant. It is best to see your OBGYN provider and have an ultrasound image to see how extensive they are. If they are small, you may not have to do anything.
