every time i stretch my achilles tendon by kneeling, i get a sharp pain and sometimes even a popping sensation. i have had this for about 2 weeks. oh, and by the way, i am a cross country runner in the middle of my summer training. what could be wrong?

Achilles pain: KaelenG276~ you have Achilles tendonitis and with all the popping and squeezing going on I would be fearful that you were imminently going to rupture the tendon. STOP RUNNING STAT ! Make an appt to see an Orthopedic, Podiatrist, or an PT who specializes in Sports Medicine to concur. DO NOT RUN TILL YOU HAVE DONE THIS ! Apply some ice if painful but DO NOT STRETCH till one of the specialists say so

i am a very active cross country runner and after every single one of my races i throw up. it has never happened before after every one. what is this?

Hydrate, relax: Some people vomit in response to stress. In some cases, eating too much prior to stenuous exercise or dehydration during exercise plays a part. Make sure you warm up well before races. If your vomiting happens when not racing, but working out hard, it would be time to see your physician.

15 year old female cross country runner w/ hip pain on right side, feel like i stabbed  hip on the corner of a table. on the front side of hip + above?

This needs to be: checked!  Stop running until you can have this checked out by your Primary Care Physician or a Sports Medicine Doc! This cannot be diagnosed by the symptoms alone!

You may: have a "tracking" problem (also called Patellofemoral Syndrome) You should get the opinion of an Orthopedist, Physiatrist or Sports Medicine Physician and a "hands on exam" i s indicated.

In the evening: Running before breakfast puts a strain on your body's reserve after several hours of no food.  Running in the evening would be better since you had already eating during the day and have more energy or food available.

Healthy breakfast.: With the understanding that breakfast is an important meal in your day, start generally with leaner and more energizing choices.  Cereals rich with complex carbohydrates and fiber for sustained energy, with skim or 1% milk to keep it lighter. Low fat yogurt and fresh fruit.  Egg whites and whole grain toast.  Try to avoid fatty breakfast meats. Keep your proteins lean.

Oatmeal 4 breakfast?: Oatmeal is good for fiber. It is usually combined with fruits, nuts, and milk. Some products are fortified with vitamins. Also an oatmeal breakfast is easy to prepare especially if one is 30 minutes late for work and still has to get the kids off to school.

Whatever you like: Eggs and dairy is nothing more or less than a custom. It's not a bad idea to include some protein, which you may need to build tissue as your body returns to being active. Eat sensibly and exercise -- your staying physically fit is far more important than breakfast food choices.
