Clean is good: If you mean a 10 day meal replacement with a balanced low sugar shake like medifast or glucose-controlled boost (plus all vitamins) it should be ok. However, the best diet to work with a bypass is a solid meal (protein and veggies) with no sipping, fewer slider foods, no sweets and no bad snacks. Might be good to check with your surgeon and program.

Various ways: There are several techniques. Gastric sleeve is a less invasive band placed on the stomach. Bypass surgery could be a roux-en-y procedure to shrink the size of the stomach and a small bowel bypass to the smaller stomach. Gastric sleeve procedure removes a part of the stomach wall. There are other choices too that you should discuss with your surgeon.

This additional training can be achieved through fellowship training or through the surgeon taking a special interest in the treatment of obese patients. Most practicing bariatric surgeons usually commit to ongoing traing and are usually members of the asmbs.

No: Gastric bypass should be seen as the last resort when all else failed.  It isn't a procedure to try and have reversed later.  If you are unsure about the lifelong committment required for success, you should not have the bypass surgery.  Though technically possible, i don't know of any bariatric surgeon who reverses bypass electively.

if someone who already hardly eats cant lose weight, would gastric bypass work since its basically making you hardly eat??

: First- This is a myth. You cant gain weight unless you eat- many people have this perception till they concentrate on their intake.  So pl keep a strict tab on your intake, exercise and get a medical check up. Good luck
