is it important to have my wisdom teeth remove? all 4 of my wisdom teeth have finally came out but the last one is hurting really bad but i can't afford to go to the dentist would it be harmful to my health to leave as is?

Not : Not all wisdom teeth needs to be removed, but if there is a chance that it will cause a problem in the future (impaction against adjacent tooth, pericoronitis, insufficient access to properly clean, development of cysts), i'd take it out.  In some cases, extraction of wisdom teeth have to be weighed against the possibility of nerve damage during the extraction - it's best to consult your local oral surgeon if this is your situation.

Crowding/infections: wisdom teeth are to be removed only if they are causing crowding and there is need for braces and alignment, or they are impacted , causing infections and decay, or not in occlusion or causing food intrapment that cause further problems .

Wisdom teeth: I usually use an elevator and try to cause the least trauma so there is less post-op pain. Sometimes its nes. To section a tooth or use forcepts. It should be painless.  You may feels a lot of pressure and some crackling sounds are normal. We provide headphones to watch tv during the procedure to remove the sound.

Some discomfort: Wisdom teeth removal can cause pain afterwards for one or more days. There could be some swelling and some residual bleeding. Infection could also occur in or around the extraction sockets. Your dentist can help you manage the pain and infection with medication.

Yes: Many general dentists remove wisdom teeth for their patients in their offices, and do a good job.  There are obviously alot of general dentists who do not perform any extractions and refer all of their extractions and wisdom teeth patients to oral and maxillofacial surgeons who may be able to provide more options for sedation or general anesthesia.

Retainer: Some people believe that wisdom teeth cause crowding when they come in.  I disagree.  It would take tremendous forces in each arch for 2 teeth to move all 14 others.  Our bodies are dynamic and constantly changing.  This includes the position of teeth.  As we get older lower front teeth crowd more.  This is why orthodontists make you wear retainers to keep your teeth straight.

Depends: After analyzing Panoramic Film Oral Surgeon May order additional studies such as periapical films and/or CBCT (Cone Beam Computerized Tomography).  The purpose of imaging is to eliminate guess-work, making the surgical procedure less invasive, more efficient, and helps simplify the post- surgical recovery period.  Discuss the issue with your Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
