my 12 year old injured her ankle yesterday. she is unable to bear weight without significant pain. she had an xray but the md forgot to call us with results and now office closed till monday. can an md look at her xray to see if there is a fracture?

: The office should have an emergency number where you can reach a doctor who should be able to look this up for you. Normally such X-rays are read promptly by a radiologist and if a fracture was noted it is reported more promptly. Not hearing is relatively encouraging but you are correct to look for a definite answer.

See a doctor!: I don't know what you did to your ankle either but if you are unable to bear weight it's potentially not so good. Like most things it should heal with some TLC and good medicine both of which are easily obtainable from your friendly local neighborhood foot and ankle specialist.

Use crtuches to stay off the foot and see a podiatrist.

Yes: Aby sprain that is more than mild will take more time to heal. You should use a support until there is no pain. It can take as long as 6-8 weeks to heal.

MD conference: A medical work up doesn't always provide a direct answer - it more often tells you what ISN'T going on. It sounds like you don't understand what your MD is thinking. Crutches: Sorry about the sprained foot!
You will get better over time but just how long is hard to  decide.
I suspect you will see physical therapist as well as your primary doctor on several occasions!.
You will recover!

Get it checked: the swollen, atraumatic knee can be difficult to diagnose without seeing it.  on an emergency room visit, your doctor needs to assess you for fevers, incrsd WBC count, knee xray and and some cases drain fluid from the knee to confirm it is not a septic joint.  And then sometimes, without any concerning exam findings, we will just wrap in an ace bandage and ice it.   Can't bare weight is no good

Outer  knee pain: Any injury?  May be meniscus degeneration, tendinitis , stress fracture ( if active), or tibial plateau fracture. Try NSAIDs,ice 15 minutes on 45 minutes off 3-4 x/day,  elevate, kinesiotape over  sore spot ,crutches for a few days and of course follow up with ortho as need xray to check for subtle fracture and may need 3 phase bone scan if still concerned about  stress fracture with negative xray
