Brush your tongue.: You should always brush your tongue to remove any bacteria left from food.  This will help with halitosis. Further, it should help with film removal. This could contribute to a bad taste. You should see your dentist to evaluate. They may recommend seeing your medical doctor.

Possiblly drug : Drugs sometimes have oral side effects such as color changes to your tongue
good oral hygiene may not be enough but if it isn't  drug related see your periodontist to evaluate it.

Enlarged papillae?: Usually yellow tongue is caused by enlarged tiny projections on the surface of your tongue which are inhabited by bacteria which produce yellow pigments. It is a harmless condition. If however the whites of your eyes are yellow as well you may have jaundice and should see your physician as soon as you are able. If you are unsure, it is always better to have a clinical examination.

Reflux: If there is no yeast then there could be the result of reflux from your stomach or a vitamin deficiency. B complex is safe to take to see if it improves the appearance of your tonque. If there is reflucx present it could also affect your larynx with a change in voice or a burning sensation in your mouth. Medications for reflux are readily available. Discuss with your doctor.

We hope so: White film on tongue is white film on tongue, not likely to be leukoplakia. You should be able to scrape or brush this off with floss, tongue scraper or brush (stick tongue out, place whatever on tongue near back and then pull tongue back in mouth). Leukoplakia will not wipe/scrape off and looks more like white adherent skin - think what a callous looks like after swimming. See Dentist if needed.

saliva may change colour and the tongue looks yellowish and can give some pain, itchy sensation of mouth feel like cotton mouth, there can be yeast infection as well, and can spread to esophagus
the condition is benign can be treated with medicated mouth wash, andanti fungal meds, and proper diet.

Thrush: If there is pain as well, tis could be oral thrush, a fungal infection.  Treatment involves rinses with an anti fin gal in most cases.   If there is no pain, there are a number of considerations from vitamin deficiencies to acid reflux.  Only a physical exam and complete history could provide an accurate diagnosis.
