i went to an insta care place facility, they told me that i just have a virus, yet im wondering if i have more than a virus, or if i have the flu with me coughing, gagging, sore throat, sneezing, since ive been sick for a week in a half, that too. ?

Doctor can evaluate: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (such as in this case). Doctors can do a rapid strep throat test with a throat swab.

Unlikely: With flu virus, you have fever, chills, sweats, muscle aches, ,severe fatigue and basically feel like you have been run over by a truck.  What you are describing sounds more like upper respirator viral infection.  Best to see doctor for evaluation.

Virus: These symptoms are consistent with influenza or a flu like virus and there is no worthwhile specific treatment except rest, good fluid intake and Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed. If symptoms worsen instead of showing gradual improvement, consult your physician for evaluation and a throat culture.

Les likely w/o cough: A significant non-productive cough is one of the main features of a true influenza viral infection (the flu), along with abrupt onset of muscle aches, fever, fatigue.  Sore throat is not a necessary symptom of the flu, but lack of a cough makes it less likely.  Commercial tests for influenza virus, should be able to detect infection in two days, but they care not 100% accurate.

Likely: Soreness may be a residual manifestation of a viral infection. Start exercising with low level activity. You may take acetaminophen (no more than 4 gms/day) for a few days.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Rest,fluids,soup: The "flu" is a bad bug.We recommend getting vaccinated to prevent this illness.To treat for "free" try increasing fluids , resting (important to prevent spread) and chicken noodle soup.Why? Because if mom, wife, partner makes it for you there is someone trying to make you better and this helps recovery.By the way-where are you seeing flu now? Our surveillance isn't showing this anywhere now.

Yes: You may be immune either from prior exposure without diagnosed infection, or may have previously received vaccine with the same or very similar strain of influenza virus that is affecting your family, or you could have been very cautious and not exposed, or you may have gotten it with minimal symptoms.  Recommend yearly vaccination.
