For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

: This would depend on your and his family history of DM but in general woukd rhink not. But I have not seen your son and you did not tell us his BMI.  Hyperphagia is unusual in DM. But over eating can bring out DM if the genes are right/wrong.

May be: Checking sugar for kids when they have no history of diabetes is not a good idea. Encourage your kid to eat regular meals and be active. These sugar numbers only will cause concern esp where there is no clear indication to test it
