Duplicate question: Same question answered a couple days ago. Same answer. Condylox kills wart tissue, and dying tissue often turns black. If in doubt, ask the doctor who diagnosed and advised treatment for your warts.

can my husband have a planters wart on his finger tip or is it something else? it is a  little black dot under the skin, & hurts him when he pushes down on it. it is on the very tip of his finger.

Warts : Warts are caused by human papilloma viruses (hpv). Different hpv viruses tend to live in different parts of the body. Most plantar warts are caused by hpv1. Plantar warts are on the plantar surface of the foot. What you are describing sounds like it may be a wart. However, it probably a different hpv than a foot wart.  Iif he sees the dermatologist this can likely be treated easily. Take care.

Hard bump: You didn't say where the bump is as sometimes that helps.  It may still be a wart even without the black dot.  See your podiatrist for assistance .

A suggestion: You might try putting duct tape on this which you can change every  other day.  This actually can work.  It should shrink the wart in 3-4 weeks and frequently will cause it to disappear.  If present after about 6 weeks of this, see a podiatrist.

That's normal: You may have to re-treat.  Sounds like there's a bit of the wart left.  Warts often appear as you described, due to coagulated blood in the tiny vessels in the wart.

Many Possibilities: Discoloration on your nail can be anything from fungus, to melanoma, to blood under the nail or just a mole. Some considerations to help determine what it is depends on the size, location,  and if  the "dot" is growing out. Best bet is to have a specialist eye it and decide if a biopsy is needed to differentiate the cause.
