Blockage of sinus: The extremely narrow space allowing air to enter the maxillary sinus (sinus under the eye) and allow drainage from that sinus is called the infundibulum.  Opacification of that narrow channel is the first phase of acute inflammation of that sinus.  If this blockage becomes chronic, a rhinologic surgeon can open that passage and allow  resolution of problem.

Ask your doc, maybe?: Infundibula are funnel-shaped symmetrical enlargements that occur at the origins of cerebral arteries &amp; are apparent on 7-25% of otherwise normal angiograms. (The word is Latin for "funnel.") An aneurysm can form at the site of one. This is EXTREMELY rare. Your doctor's just being prudent. I'm curious: Why didn't you ask YOUR DOCTOR this question, instead of some stranger on HealthTap?

: Not  feasible to objectify the most nearly correct reading of the images without availability of the films.  Not unique for very small lesions to be artifacts or insignificant clinically.  Your question is best asked to the  doctors who disagree and see if they can confer with each other to decide on a final interpretation

i had a smra head w/o contrast exam on 7/17/20. one impression showed 4mm infundibulum at the origin of the left posterior cerebral artery. i do have pain on the let side of my neck at the base of the skull. is this something i need to worry about?

Need clarification: Your post does NOT make anatomical sense, as the infundibulum is the hollow stalk between the hypothalamus and the posterior pituitary gland, and the posterior cerebral artery affects the occipital lobe.  I have NO idea what you are asking, or what the potential issue involves.  Please re-post with clarification and point our specifically what troubles you.
