Cold tips: for sore throat – gargle with warm salt water (1/2 tsp salt in 8 oz of water). * for congestion – saline nose drops or a neti pot. *for anti-inflammatory effect & mobilizing mucus- homemade chicken noodle soup.**for hydration- lots of water. Try clear broth. * add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea.

URI recovery: Viral upper respiratory tract infection (URI) is usually self limited but symptoms may linger  awhile until full resolution. OTC de-congestion and cough medicine are appropriate for symptomatic relief and prescription antibiotics are usually not required. I suggest expectorant cough medicine and plenty hydration in daytime and suppressants at night time for better sleep.

URI: Use nasal irrigation with saline (Neti-pot), OTC decongestants, cough syrup with dextromethorphan or a combination medication (check with your friendly pharmacist). Drink lots of liquids and rest as much as possible. Wish you better soon.

Colds: First of all, drink plenty of fluids and rest, if possible. To help with a stuffy nose, try saline nasal spray as often as necessary. A good decongestant is Pseudoephedrine taken orally - either liquid or pill.

ie: Sudogest, Dimetapp. Tylenol q 4 hrs if needed

iread that i shoukd avoid over the counter headache and cold medicine. i just want to know what  pain medication is safe for me to use for headaches?

Sick sinus: Tylenol is safe, but since sick sinus syndrome can produce rapid tachycardia as well as bradycardia, you must avoid decongestant medications like Sudafed or neosynephrine which can stimulate the heart and induce tachycardia.
