Depends: Ring worms are fungal infections of the skin.  They are usually round or irregularly round with a central clearing and a heaped up spreading border.  They itch.  Small ones can be treated with over the counter terbinafine for a minimum of 2 weeks twice a day.  Larger ones and more resistant ones may require an oral medication (same one) or Griseofulvin for a month or more.  See pcp or derm if ?

Wet wrap: You need to use a thick ointment such as vaseline and wrap it with wet gauze then dry gauze and leave it overnight and repeat nightly until skin starts healing.

The thick or dead: Skin should be removed. This is best done by a podiatrist. If you don't have insurance consider a pedegg available at a drugstore. I like the high concentration urea creams to help moisturize a foot.
