Not a disease: You have antibodies to some of the blood group antigens and the blood bank will need to make sure not to give you blood, if you need blood transfusion, with D and S antigens. Blood banks do this every day and you should not be concerned.

blood test shows hemoglobin a1c at 6.2 and est avg gluc at 131 does that mean i could be diabetic? i have an appt but looking it up is freaking me out

Ask a diabetologist: You may want to repeat your hemoglobin A1C , or to request a 2 hour oral glucose tolerance test after a 75 gms glucose load or to discuss your concerns about diabetes and pre-diabetes with your doctor.  A consultation with a diabetes endocrinologist (or a center specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes) should provide the best answer to your questions.

my son is 18 had blood test done his est 85 he drinks 3 times a month an takes advil (ibuprofen) for sholder pain should he be worried about the test?

Abnormal urinalysis: Leukocytes, nitrates and bacteria in urine with dysuria will indicate urinary infection and usually treated with antibiotics.

Kidney and Liver T: Egfr (normal >60), creatinine, bun/cr ratio are all lab values to suggest how the kidney function is, ast is an enzyme secreted by the liver, if its elevated there is something wrong with the liver (it varies from mild to severe). Check with your doctor or mentor about the normal values and the abnormal ones.

i had a blood test done it indicated high bun and creatine levels what causes this and what should  i do my creatine readings were bun 14 creatine 1.5 and est creatine 46 what should i do i also have high blood pressure and im on noravas 10  mg lisinopril

A : A rising creatinine level indicates decreasing kidney function.  This can be caused by several different factors, but i suspect that, in your case, it's most likely due to your high blood pressure. The fact that you're on three different medications suggests that management of your blood pressure is difficult.

The most important thing you can do is to take your medications as instructed, follow the dietary restrictions your doctor has probably given you, and stay well-hydrated.  Yes, it may also be appropriate to change meds or doses, but that's something you'll need to discuss with your regular doctor.

Have you been tested for renal artery stenosis?  Narrowed arteries going to the kidneys can cause high blood pressure, and are potentially correctable. In addition, the group of antihypertensive medicines (of which Lisinopril is one) can worsen renal function in patients with renal artery stenosis.

Here are some ...: Just 27 RBCs alone (if urine was collected properly) warrants a thorough evaluation with imaging studies, preferably with CT.IVP and cystoscopy to make sure of no significant concerns such as stone, tumor, etc. Besides, one needs to see why your sodium at 134; so share more health background with Doc to deduce its clinical significance. Otherwise, your kidneys seem working well.

Pain worsens high BP: Pain by itself can significantly raise blood pressure. Getting your pain under control may be all the blood pressure control you need. If not, be mindful of the interaction between some blood pressure medicines and some pain medicines, specifically as it relates to the health of your kidneys and/or liver. Alternative medicine (eg: acupuncture) can help with both arthritis and BP control.

Yes/No: We know that stress  does have some degree of effect on the blood sugar.  Just how much is really unknown.  Since chronic pain can increase stress, my answer would be yes.  How much ?  I don't know.

i had blood drawn ( 1 vile) over a week ago. my arm has been sore at the inside elbow where blood was taken. the pain is constant and is in my entire arm. there is not a lot of bruising but arthritic like uncomfortableness in my arm. concern?

: I would be concerned if there is redness, swelling or marked tenderness at the site of needle insertion.
If this area shows redness and swelling, you should see your doctor to make sure that you do not have local infection(cellulitis) which may require antibiotics to control it.
