Accepted Answer

Ego: You are your best advocate and a second opinion is often in your best interest.  If the doctor has a problem with that, it may be just a matter of ego.  Some doctors may experience this as a rejection, but best to look at it as possibly a helpful consultation for the benefit of the patient.

been diagnosed with hypophysitis 3 years ago, getting constant muscle contracting and spasms in head , could be a symtom of depression. regards diana

Most probably not: Hypophysitis is a rare condition and so far not many cases have been found. This is a growth on the Anterior Pituitary gland in the Sella Turcica of the Pituitary fossa. Contraction of muscles and headache R the initial symptoms of Hypophysitis. So, it is not depression.

the feeling of off balance and head movement.  other symtoms include lacking concentration and trouble sleeping.  what are symtom consistent with?

It is: Vertigo from an inner ear problem/ labyrinthitis or it could be a sign of fatigue, stress. Sleep apnea, anxiety, add etc . See your dr for a complete check up. Take care!

Likely not: A gentle shake by the shoulders, not enough to cause head to snap back and front, enough to gain attention. Better to verbally help them to calm down first. Physical interaction should really be avoided.

This type of labral lesion is stable and usually treated by arthroscopic debridement, although you may need capsular tightening due to the repetitive strain on your shoulder capsule. Your surgeon will be able to answer your questions more specifically.

Electrolytes v Other: Get blood work if you haven't already to include blood levels, kidney and liver function plus sodium, calcium and others like folate (folic acid) and vitamin B12. I see you had thyroid function checked. With nausea and unusual food cravings, if these tests are all negative, then a head CT may be considered to rule out organic conditions in the brain before addressing potential emotional causes like anxiety.

Parvovirus: Parvovirus b19 causes the classic "slapped cheek" rash; in older kids, it can cause a rash called palpable purpuric gloves and socks syndrome, that may look like a nettle sting rash.  A proper diagnosis, however, would require an exam by a doctor.

my cousin used to slap my head daily for nearly 5 years when we were in our early teens. it wasn't anything that would cause me pain or a concussion, just more of a weird game they would play. bizzare i know, but can this lead to brain damage or cte?

: If you had no pain or concussion there would be no long term residual damage, to anything beyond your self image.
