Garlic supplements: It depends on what effects you're seeking.  But evidence is growing that garlic -- in both food & supplement form -- may help lower blood pressure.  Some others: it may also help cardiovascular health by inhibiting platelet aggregation, and increaseing fibrinolytic activity. Worthless: You should not be taking zinc in any case unless your physician has directed you to do so. Manage your pimples with topical benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid; this is not pleasant but it's your best option. If you're not clear in a few weeks, get with your personal physician.

Yes & OK to pass RDA: Yes, this is a good one & better than most. It should not be relied upon as a source of calcium & magnesium (but no one-a-day has much of those). While it has 100% the rda of vit. D (400 iu), most adults need about 5000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels. The rda is the amount that prevents obvious deficiency symptoms in healthy people & has nothing to do with the optimal level for good health.

Oily,scaley skin: Cradle cap represents warn out skin cells that remain firmly attached to the scalp after they would otherwise fall off. (all of us shed skin all the time) natural skin oils may act as a glue, and most baby shampoos don't include enzymes to break up the oil.

Inflammation,: After an usual form of exercise, joints can become inflamed.  This can happen when we engage in activities that use our muscles and joints in ways that we don't normally use them.  Rest, ibuprofen or tylenol, (acetaminophen) ice or heat, is a reasonable plan for now.  If you have significant swelling, or fever, or your knee gives way, see somebody as soon as possible. Regular skating when better, can prevent this

my son has worn a scrum cap in 2 of his rugby matches and after the match fluid pours from his ear.

Scrum: The covering over the ear could be a mechanism for fluids to collect into the ear canal. The cover would make the ear prone to infection and that would typically be of the ear canal.
