It is safe to take: sudafed,but not zyrtec and allegra (fexofenadine) together-only 1 or the other. I would try zyrtec, it is stronger than allegra (fexofenadine). No decongestants if you have high blood pressure. No zyrtec D and sudafed together, as they both contain decongestants. Use zyrtec plain.

is it safe to take advil cold & sinus (ibuprofen + pseudoephedrine)  if you are using flonase spray? can zyrtec or allegra (fexofenadine) also be taken @  same time?

Yes it is : If you are taking ibuprophen and psedophed, you can add Flonase and if needed Allegra (fexofenadine) or zyrtec to it and it is not unsafe.

is it safe to take pseudoephedrine daily long term? my antidepressant wellbutrin is causing sinus issues and terrible post nasal drip & ear congestion. pseudoephedrine is the only thing that works in tandem with flonase & allegra?

: Urge that you schedule a visit with an allergist and have this further evaluated.  Welbutrin is unlikely to be the source of all your misery.  Have an expert provide an opinion on the best way to manage your specific issues.

Depends: In general, these medications are safe to take over a long period of time, and actually work together to treat symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis. However, if you have been on these medicines for a while, i would recommend seeing an allergist for more definitive treatment options.

See ENT: Could be a variety of problems including chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, and so on. See an ENT doctor for exam and workup.

Accepted Answer

Flonase better: Allegra is an atihistamine and is helpful for itchiness, sneezing and a runny nose, not helpful for congestion.  Flonase, an intranasal steroid covers all these symptoms plus congestion. Head to head studies comparing Flonase to antihistamines, singulair, (montelukast) or sudafed showed that Flonase beat them all.  I usually suggest daily Flonase and adding an antihistamine on as needed or supplemental basis.

been getting brain zaps after 1 week on allegra (fexofenadine). had the same on flonase. is this something to be concerned about?

"Zaps"?Not sure, but: if you are worried about side effects, I can't connect the two; they are completely different medications. Allegra (fexofenadine) does not cross into the brain, even at 2-3x recommended doses; unlike other antihistamines, FAA allows flying a plane while on Allegra (fexofenadine). Flonase can cause side effects, but many other things would happen before a brain issue. Better check with your doctor.

i've taken flonase, allegra, and mucinex (guaifenesin) as prescribed for 4 days and my symptoms seem to be getting worse. what should i do?

See doctor: if symptoms worsen despite prescribed therapy, it is time for re-evaluation.  Schedule an appointment.
