: They both are accurate but with some variability. Not only must they be taken together, but the value of the ultrasound is in serial examinations over time (e.g., weekly). If the only discrepancy is 2 days (if I am reading your text correctly), that's pretty close for this kind of assessment, and, medically (for the precision of the methods) are basically saying the same thing and are in agreement

1st trimester: If your dating ultrasound is in the 1st trimester, most doctors, if the ultrasound is off by &gt; 5 days of lmp, will use the ultrasound as has more accuracy.  Hope that helps your question!

Probably LMP: Did you have a 1st trimester ultrasound? If you did, that would be the most accurate, especially if it was consistent with your LMP. A third trimester ultrasound is less accurate, with an error range of 2-3 weeks. The ultrasound would therefore be consistent with your dates based on your LMP, since there is only a 10 day difference.

: The LMP in the reports is entered manually (so different technicians can enter it differently) and is not calculated from the measurements in the ultrasound. It is not useful in trying to determine conception.
