: I assume you don't have sleep apnea or chronic pulmonary disease. If only the red cells are elevated ( erthyrocytosis ) then chronic stress or excess testosterone are possible causes. If white blood cells&amp; platelets are also elevated, a bone marrow disorder is likely &amp; a hematologist should be consulted as a condition called polycythemia vera is suspected. Mild bp elevation: Low salt diet(dash) along with aerobic exercise and meditation can help lower bp. Meditation also helps with this. These things need to be continued and BP checked to be sure that if it normalizes it stays that way. Importantly don't smoke....

my blood pressure recently has been between the range of systolic 128 -136 and diastolic 81 -86 and i am 29years old , should i be worried?. i have been experiencing mild pain on the left side of my chest for few days now. please what is the cause?

: The entrance to the stomach is just to the left of and behind the heart. Pain in that area is most often from the irritation caused by the backwash of stomach acid (heartburn). The stomach is a muscular organ, squeezing food to mix it for digestion, If you lay down after eating, consume any caffeine, the weakness of the stomach closure allows backwash. The BP is a little up, but I not worrisome.

is st. johns wort safe to take for mild anxiety?  i have anxiety induced high blood pressure occasionally,  will st.johns make it worse?

hi i quit zoloft (sertraline) and have mild dizziness, just wondering why? is it effecting my blood pressure? was only on 25mg per day for 1 year.thanks

Stopped sertraline: unlear when or why u stopped setraline - which may be relevant. sometimes when an SSRI is stopped, there may be a mild adjustment this change, and some pts report dizziness during this adjustment time. Dizziness is also a symptom of anxiety, so could be resurgence of anxiety symptoms. finally, could be unrelated. Schedule a visit with ur doc to discuss &amp; receive the proper diagnosis &amp; treatment

i have been experiencing mild lightheadedness when i stand up for a few years and i believe its happening more frequently. im 36, in shape, eat healthy and havent had any blood pressure issues.

Lightheadedness: The most common cause of becoming lightheaded upon standing is a drop in blood pressure on going from sitting or lying down to standing. Measure your BP sitting and then up on standing. If the systolic BP drops more than 15-20 points this would be abnormal, could cause lightheadedness and is called postural hypotension. There is treatment for this. See your MD for evaluation and advice.
