Influenza a infects humans, birds, and certain mammals. It causes all flu pandemics. Influenza b virus is  less common than influenza a, though it can infect seals. Influenza c virus infects humans and pigs, but is much less common, causing milder disease.

Ibuprofen would be: the only other fever-reducing medication, as long as your daughter does not have any other medical condition for which this would be contraindicated. Tamiflu only helps possibly reduce the symptoms and sometimes the length of time she would be ill, and can only be given in the first 24-48 hours of illness to be effective.

Vitamin C 2-5 gram daily x 1 month.
