Surgery/chemo/radiat: There're treatment regimens available for treating hepatocellular-carcinoma, but  no guarantee. The outcome often depends on the stage at diagnosis as well as the overall health of the individual. If the hcc mass is resectable, surgery can be done to debulk/remove it and follow with chemo and/or radiation. Consult your doc/oncologist for evaluation/treatment that is best for you. Good luck.

No one can tell..: Sorry to hear about the diagnosis. It appears like he has failed all the treatment options which includes liver transplantation, hepatic artery embolization and chemotherapy (also called chemoembolization), radiofrequency ablation, and cryoablation. For potentially respectable hcc the 5 year survival rate can be over 50%. Otherwise prognosis is poor.

TACE: Not sure what hcc means (hepatocellular carcinoma?), but when transcatheter arterial chemoembolization is used the infarcted areas of tissue may release cytokines which induce fever. Three weeks sounds like a lengthy time however and might worry about secondary infection. Hope he feels better soon.  Good luck.

Ask for help from Do: You should be guided and assisted by the treating doctors. Fever following tace is common and can go on for  up to 2 weeks. If it persists beyond that time, make sure you do not have an infection somewhere in your body. But do keep in touch with your treating team of doctors.
