This is: part of the condition. It can make it difficult for you as you do not have the usual visual clues to help you understand how your father is feeling.  Know that behind the blank mask is the same father you have known and loved over the years with all the emotions one can have, he is just unable to move the facial muscles in the manner you would expect to communicate those.

Gentle Soap: I recommend using a gentle soap (and warm water) such as Unscented Dove or Eucerin. Cleanse twice each day. Rinse with cool water. If you have particularly oily skin use an astringent 1-2 times/day to wipe oil away as well. Also avoid touching your face unless you have washed your hands to avoid clogging pores.
