Clear to auscult: Abbreviation for clear to auscultation (cta).  This is what is sometimes written after listening to lungs and hearing normal breath sounds on both sides.  Sometimes it is followed by no w/r/r (no wheezes rhonichi or rales).

CTA: A CTA is a CT scan obtained with the intent to evaluate specific blood vessels. You will get an IV which will be used to administer contrast material during the scan. Some people experience a sensation of warmth or a metallic taste from the contrast material.  Scan times are usually surprisingly fast. Good luck.

Allergy: The main risk is concern for an allergic reaction to the contrast dye. Damage to the kidney is also a big concern. The good thing is that the kidney can usually recover from this on its own with IV fluids and careful observation.

: Pleurisy is diagnosed clinically by the history of typical pleuritic chest pain on inspiration. A chest X-Ray or CT scan can show pleural thickening or pleural fluid accumulation to go along with the typical chest distress.  Analysis of this chest fluid gives clues to the cause of the pleurisy. Biopsy of the thickened pleura reveals.the type of pathology also. TB or cancer are examples.

Yes: Chest CT angiography can dagnose both pulmonary embolism and aortic dissection. Different acquistion parameters of study may apply.

The arteries: Of the abdomen and pelvis. The aorta, renal/celiac/superior mesenteric/inferior mesenteric arteries. The iliac arteries in the pelvis are shown. Aneurysms, vessel narrowing, and occlusion are looked for.

Arteries: It's a ct scan that looks at the arteries in the abdomen.  Abnormalities like aneurysm, blood clots, calcified arteries all can be seen. It also identifiers abnormalities of the organs in the abdomen.

what is this mean on cta ? the left transverse sinus is diminutive?

Accepted Answer

: The transverse sinus is part of venous structure that collects blood form the brain and drains to the jugular. A diminutive sinus means the vein is congenitally smaller than typical. There is a lot of normal variation in the transverse sinuses in terms of size and drainage pattern, and these variations usually cause no issues. Interestingly, the left transverse sinus has more normal variation.
