i have a sharp pain on my left chest rib side. its sore when i cough or sneeze. its been there for about 1 to 2 weeks now.

This type of pain: suggests rib or pleura (the lung and heart lining) problems. My first thought might be a rib fracture..perhaps a fall or injury when you didn't appreciate the severity of the trauma. Or inflammation of pleura from a viral/other infection causing inflammation. You could take ibuprofen in suggested doses for up to a week. If no improvement, see Doc. Take this "silver lining" and stay off cigarettes!

Cough: A cough can be one of the most perplexing and elusive of symptoms to pin down.  From what you have said an allergy, bronchitis, sinusitis, medication effect, chemical exposure, asthma, reflux, among others may be possible.  You will need to see a doctor with some skill in the area of cough and be willing to possibly devote some time to getting to the bottom of it.

Tickle in throat: It can be one of many things: laryngopharyngeal reflux (stomach acid coming up to the voice box), post nasal drainage, dryness, a weakness of the superior laryngeal nerve (the nerve that gives sensation to the voice box; usually viral), or even wax in the ear canal (there is a tiny nerve, arnold's nerve, that gets irritated and triggers a cough via a tickle in the throat).
