Part of the eye: 1- the conjuctival sac is the area between the eyelid and the eye. We put there medications to treat different eye problems.
2- yes, everybody has at least one (unless you dont have eyes!).

Conjunctival tumors: Tumors of the conjunctiva, like those elsewhere, can be benign or malignant.  If benign, and large or unsightly, then simple excision is done.  If malignant and primary excision is done and may be followed with chemo or radiation.  If metastatic, than the source tumor must be sought and treated.

Ophthalmologist: If you have a conjunctival nevus which bothers you, then see your ophthalmologist about removal.  These can usually be easily removed in an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with no subsequent scarring.

Different appearance: A discoloration on the surface of the eye or the inner lining of the eyelid.  Also a change in a spot on the eye or lining of the eyelid should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist.  Also, any lesions that suddendly bleed should also be evaluated. Ophthalmologist : Nevi of the conjunctiva are benign and rarely become malignant. If that is what you have, it should be photographed and checked every couple of years. They are fairly easy to excise for biopsy purposes if necessary.

Eye lining: The term conjunctival sac refers to the space opened when you pull your lower lid down exposing the eye lining.  This creates a sac like are onto which eyedrops can be placed.  Once in that space, when you let the lid go, the drops spreads over the whole eye.

Wait...: Nevi of the conjunctiva generally develop during the first 2 decades of life. In children, pure junctional nevi are common. In general, nevi of the conjunctiva are "benign" pigmented lesions of the ocular surface and are freely mobile over the surface of the globe. Unless a biopsy is required for ruling out malignant melanoma, a nevus is usually excised for cosmetic reasons only.

Conj cyst: These frequently fill back up if lanced with a needle. Other 2 options: argon laser and full excision (which has best success).
