Doubt it: Unfortunatly animal testing is often a part of research and development. I do not have any knowledge about each companies labs but as far as I know at the present time botox disport and xeomin (incobotulinumtoxin a) are the only good drugs for these problems

Unlikely: Botox is really not that invasive when you consider other more drastic options which may do more harm than good. There is another biosimilar product to Botox  but it is not commonly used.

Probably never: To become a Plastic Surgeon requires completing Medical School and then a residency in Plastic Surgery.  Completing Dental School makes you eligible to take a residency on one of the Dental Specialties, not Medical Specialties.  Becoming a Dentist does not make you eligible for a Plastic Surgery Residency the same way becoming a Physician does not make you eligible for an Orthodontic Residency.

Topiramate is taken daily and used for migraine prophylaxis, while sumatriptan is taken as needed for acute attacks. : I do not find any interaction between those anticonvulsive meds and botox injection so I think you can have it done.

my mum has a diagnosed parkinson's disease and she's suffering a lot from muscle rigidity. she can't relax her shoulders at all. can i ask a cosmetic surgeon to inject botox to relieve some pain?

PT medication change:  I would first discuss the problem with her neurologist. PD can not only can cause rigidity in the limbs, but also in the trunk ,neck, etc. A careful exam will help to see if her symptoms are from PD, or from a "frozen" shoulder syndrome from other causes. Physical therapy, massage, exercise, and PD medication changes may really help before treatments such as Botox.

Botox can be helpful: Botox is a neurotoxin that causes relaxation of the muscle.  It is helpful in many different cases to relax over active  muscles and erase wrinkles caused by contraction of muscles.  Muscle tension headaches, migraine headaches, TMJ pain,  crows feet,  forehead wrinkles,  glabellar lines,  bunny lines  can all be improved with little to no discomfort.  It is not immediate but takes 4-5 days.

Botox: Cosmetic treatments are best done when the patient is sufficently bothered by a feature, and a safe and effective treatment exists.  Botox is a great way to treat many facial lines caused by muscle movement.  You facial plastic or plastic surgeon or dermatologist can help you choose the best treatment for these lines and wrinkles.
