It will improve: Scars are permanent but almost all fade with time. Protect the scars from sunlight while there is any pink left in them; they will burn easily and, if tanned, may be tanned permanently. I would not expect the scar to assume its final form for 12-18 months. The younger you are, the longer it will take. Do not rush into scar revision. See a surgeon certified by the am. Bd. Of plas. Depends.: Careful prep of the tissues before repair, meticulous layered closure, fine sutures not tied too tightly or left in too long, ultraviolet avoidance for 6-12 months (or until scar fades), and scar gels or pads all can help to give you the best result. But the first three factors listed are already out of your control and certainly your genetics of healing are pre-determined, so only time will tell!

It shouldn't : By following a few simple rules, general surgeons can perform this operation with little residual cosmetic effect. The way i look at it, the fibroadenoma doesn't belong there.  Therefore, surgical removal of the tumor should restore the breast to its 'normal' state.  As far as the scar goes, the scar can usually be "hidden" around the areolar edge or below the breast.  Be sure to ask your surgeon!

Pressure: Pressure will reduce swelling and scar formation. The mechanism for this improvement is a sunject of debate. If the injury is a limb then gentle wrapping with an ace wrap from the hand or foot up to the injury will help. The wrap should be snug but not painful. If the scar is not on an extremity then tape and a silicne pad may help.
