Gait and balance: Problems sound significant, and you can start with your pcp. The differntial includes neurological problems of the central nervous system, benign but serious, to malignant.  You will likely get a visit to a neurologst, for a formal neurological exam, before an mri, but the exam directs what to study, and if other things are first.

my 10 year old daughter has a suspected collapsed arch. she complains every now and then of her feet being painful the one more than the other. she also has an abnormal gait.

Treatments available: Chronic foot pain in a 10 yo should be evaluated so proper treatment can be started. It may be an arch issue &amp; if so orthotic shoe inserts can bring relief. This issue will likely only get worse without treatment as her adolescent growth/muscle mass increases put more strain on her feet.

both ankles pain at paroneal. knee pain. doc said not structural but functional problem. abnormal gait, unstable hips, weak lower back. how to correct?

Strengthening : exercises as well as stretching and possibly custom-made functional orthotic device should help.

my essential tremor has progressed to abnormal gait head arm and leg problems and pain in all areas despite all the medications they have put me on. 24 meds for various symptoms.  not working to increasing pain meds overwhelms my mind. help?

PT and pain doc: Unclear where your pain originates, as tremors and abnormal gait should not hurt. 
1. See a physical therapist to work on balance and assistive devices to prevent falls
2. See a pain doc to determine why you hurt and look at meds/treatments that will be better tolerated. 
3. See a neurologist for tremor treatments that could help all of your ills.   Good luck

Chronic fatigue: Chronic fatigue can arise from many sources - not the least of which is not sleeping soundly. Have your doctor refer you for a sleep study. If that turns out OK a consult with a neurologist will evaluate your abnormal (weak) gait  would be my next choice for you.

i have been having difficulty for over 2 years now walking / feeling generalized weakness in my legs & arms.  it started with off bruises on my legs, and they went away w/i 5 days.  i can't walk normally, and unusual gait. it's difficult to stand up?

Evaluation: An evaluation and imaging is a good starting point. An alternative is an urgent care center. A myopathy, spinal condition, and MS should be considered.

No: What you are describing certainly is not related to obesity alone and is definitely not normal.  You need to see a neurologist as soon as possible and probably an MRI of the brain among other tests to establish the diagnosis.

Neurological: Muscle weakness, pain and tingling in extremities and difficulty balancing can be a sign of a neurological disturbance. You should consult your primary Dr immediately and undergo a complete in person exam and lab tests. Your Dr may refer you to a specialist or for imaging.

Different gaits are characterized by differences in limb movement patterns, overall velocity, forces, kinetic and potential movement.

Varies by cause: The key to fixing an awkward gait is determing the cause - is it muscular, skeletal, neurological, etc.  Pt can help for muscular injuries, and for some neurological conditions meds can help.  As always good diagnosis begets good treatment and better outcomes.
