Yes: There are no studies that have yet to show that skipping your period by not taking the placebo has an harmful effects on your health. You may not be able to continue filling your prescription early on a continuous basis, however. If this is the approach you want to take, consider taking a birth control pill that's made for this use - such as Lybrel, Seasonale, or Seasonique. Best wishes.

Often : Often times when you miss a pill your hormone levels are off thus resulting in spotting or light bleeding. On the other hand the fact that you missed a pill puts you at risk for pregnancy. So implanttaion bleeding is a possibility. You should have started your period by now or be expecting it soon. If it does not come take a pregnancy test.

Yes: If the lining of the womb gets very thin, which it sometimes does after years on the pill, there might be nothing to shed, so a 'missed period'. The protection from pregnancy is still in effect.
