If persists consult : Paulie i think could be one of several things , none of which is severe. Can be an apthous ulcer (canker sore)  or a temporary herpetic type sore, or a irritated taste bud. Can consult  dds for a swizzle rinse to relieve the soreness. Usually this rinses have a numbing agent that helps the soreness. Not gone in ten days consult dds or md. Good luck.

2days after tooth extraction, the socket had yellowish slough on top, i cleaned with povidone and normal saline and it goes off. i found a small empty hole there. now, i'm suffering neck pain when swallow but no fever/sorethroat.what should i do next?

Depends: This is a commonly used disinfectant.I routinely use it for preparing skin for suturing on almost any body surface. I make an effort to remove any residual betadine after the procedure.Leaving it on is thought to increase risk of sensitizing the skin to the product making future use likely to cause a rash.

Yes, but unnecessary: Snap fissures heal well without specific intervention usually. Those that do not require surgery. Unless a specialist has instructed that you use betadine, I would avoid it as it can interfere with growth of new healthy cells as well as killing bacteria. Sitz baths a few times a day and a super gentle soap is all you need, possibly plus a soothing medicine for pain.

See doctor: You didn't state how you were bitten by the white eel, or if it's your pet. Apparently, the reason to see a doctor is to treat secondary infection with antibiotics. If bit through your skin, then bacteria can enter your blood. Most eels do not have clean teeth. So there is some concern for vibrio, or pseudomonas infection. So you need to have this looked at physically, especially if you have pain, swelling, redness.

in chickenpox, is it safe and beneficial to use betadine solution on the skin including the face to ease itching? can it be applied to the scalp too?

I wouldn't: Betadine has the potential to sensitize you(make allergic) to its components if it is left on the skin for indefinite periods. I make great effort to remove any trace of it after I use it to sterilize an area for a procedure.

does long term use of pvp-i solution cause serious side effects (e.g. organ damage - besides thyroid dysfunction)? i have used betadine for scalp folliculitis everyday for 2 years. i know its not recommended to use it for longer than 10 days?

: You should not worry much if thyroid and kidney function are normal.

Wound care: Sounds as if you have done the right things. Hopefully your tetanus vaccine is up to date. If not, go and do this. Watch the wound for signs of redness, heat, tenderness or areas of hardening of the underlying tissue and if these things occur, see a doctor ASAP. Best wishes.
