The dose for chronic hep B is 10 mill units subcutaneous or IM shot 3times/week for 16 weeks, or 5 mill units daily for 16 wk. get with your doctor to see if you have the chronic form of hepatitis. Q: finished a 12 week pegasus interferon treatment last friday... i had horrible side effects horrible. depression. seems to be bad still a week later?

Further evaluation: Depression is a common side effect of Pegasus. Consider short term anti-depressant

Only bad things: This is incredibly high risk behavior. Your husband is begging for cirrhosis. Get him help if at all possible.

May be acceptable: The half life is about 30 hours so technically you should wait 2 1/2 days for the drug to be completely metabolized. The main issue is the potential for liver disease with both Fluconazole and alcohol. It depends on how many you take, how much alcohol you usually drink and if there is preexisting liver disease. If you are concerned, wait 2-3 days.

However, chemotherapy for midgut carcinoids lacks efficacy, with response rates of <25%. Newer experimental treatments exists.
