Maybe (not) . . .: Uti = urinary tract infection. So if you really had a uti, then symptoms should not come & go. In fact, they won't go away unless treated w/appropriate antibiotic or at least temporarily numbed up w/otc phenazopyridine. But sexually transmitted diseases/infections can also cause similar symptoms eg painful frequent urination w/sense of urgency. Sometimes you can feel std infection, other times not.

Simplr bladder infections cn many times be cleared by just drinking fluids and and voiding to wash bacteria out of your bladder. More severe infections can spread to your kidneys and make you very sick, fever, chills, etc. The short answer is get checked and get treated.

3 days: Most UTI symptoms resolve within 3 days after beginning antibiotic treatment.  If symptoms of burning with urination, urinary frequency and urgency continue past 4 days, call your doctor.

Consult urologist: Firstly U need to be on an appropriate antibiotic, secondly you may have an anatomic problem &amp; unable to empty bladder completely with urination. Other problems like kidney or bladder stones, if present, can harbor bacteria and prevent cure of UTI. Good luck

The organisms will start to die quickly, but symptoms may take a day or two to begin to resolve, just as if you were bruised from trauma.
